Jill Springsteen, MC & COMM '08 Reports on a new job with Caterpillar 

"I was working for Caterpillar through an agency in Peoria in the Human Resources department as a recruiter for about a year.* I recently accepted a position as a CRM communication training and documentation specialist and relocated to Milwaukee. Basically we work through a customer relationship management system known as the cloud (salesforce) which is new to the merger of Cat and Bucyrus. So I have been putting together training material and training all if our regions globally. I will be the resident expert on chatter which is a business version of Facebook. Not like linked in but more closely resembling Facebook with posts and messages and threaded conversations. I start traveling in April to complete the hands on training and before the en of June will touch every continent aside from Antarctica! It's going to be busy but very exciting.

* Like many companies these days, Caterpillar contracts with employment agencies to have them provide workers for a range of professional services  I believe what Jill means here is that she was a recruiter for Cat but employed by another company.  It is not uncommon as in this case that agency employees are later offered regular permanent jobs at Cat.  Lee McGaan
