Responsibilities Summary:

•Assist in coordinating interview requests with players/coaches/staff on both national and local levels •Assist in the production of media guide and postseason publications •Research, write and edit game notes and statistical data on a daily basis during the season •Assist with club’s media relations efforts during home baseball games •Compile “news clips” for distribution on a daily basis •Assist with any departmental administrative tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

•College Degree, in Public Relations, Communications or other related field •One year experience in collegiate Sports Information Office •Highly motivated and enthusiastic with strong interpersonal skills •Strong communication skills, both verbal and written •Strong organizational skills and attention to detail •Must be proficient in the use of desktop publishing software (Adobe Pagemaker preferred) and Microsoft Word and Excel •Available full time from January 5, 2009 through November 30, 2009 •Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays (based on team’s home baseball schedule) •Strong baseball knowledge •Ability to speak, read and write Spanish a plus ________________________________________
