Junior
and senior Monmouth College students participating in this program gain
valuable hands-on experience preparing tax returns for the community.
The following are the objectives of our
program: technical skills, issue-identification, research,
problem-solving, teamwork, ability to work under pressure, organization
skills, technology skills, ethics, awareness of how tax issues affect
others, communication skills, and professionalism.
The experience should lead students to better citizenship, greater
understanding of community needs, and help in solving social issues.
In preparation for this service, students attend tax workshops (both
federal and state), must pass a certification exam, and train using
TaxWise professional software.
