Many of the pictures in this collection show what life was like in the late nineteenth century.

This is a picture of a cave in Dixon, Illinois. If you look closely, there are two people, a man and a women, seated in the middle of the picture.

This picture is of a dinner party and is one of the most interesting pictures in the collection.  Not very many photos from this time period are as candid as this one. Notice the man in the foreground who is drinking from a glass.

These are a few of the McQuiston relatives while they were on a picnic.

These three pictures are of a picnic.  The people are all unidentified.

This is an unknown cooper.

These two pictures are of women doing laundry.  The second one is of Eva Clark Waid.
