Margaret McQuiston, born on 14 November 1890, was the second child of W. J. and Mary. The pictures of Margaret are the reason I became interested in the family. W. J. took photographs consistently throughout his children's lives, so we are able to watch them grow up.

Unfortunately, Maggie was not able to live a long life. At the age of ten and a half, Margaret died suddenly at her school. From her obituary we know that she died from a congenital heart defect while walking up the stairs at her school.

This is a picture of Margaret soon after she was christened in 1890.

This picture was taken on the same day as the family photo on the home page.  Margaret was about six or seven months old at the time.

Maggie was around age two or three when this adorable photo was taken.  Note the siding on the right hand side of the picture.  This tells us that the picture was taken outside with rugs and sheets creating a pleasant background.  W. J. did this to use the natural sunlight rather than a flashbulb.

These two pictures are the most moving of W.J.'s photos.  This picture was taken on 23 May 1901, the day after Margaret McQuiston passed away, but before her funeral. The print for this picture was missing so I had to create a negative of the slide, which is why it is lighter than the other pictures.  The defect on the side is because the glass slide had water damage.

This photo was taken on the 24th after the funeral service.  Notice the floral tributes.
