Positions in art following the bachelor of arts degree, and
including further advanced study, lead to careers in such diversified areas as: art education,
art therapy; architectural, environmental, fashion, industrial or interior design; graphic and
computer-assisted design; illustration, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture; and
museum or gallery work.
Students may qualify for certification to teach art at the
elementary and secondary levels by meeting the requirements of the art and education
departments while completing the art major. The art program helps the student prepare a
portfolio for entrance to graduate programs for those who plan to teach at the college level
or for advanced professional fields. Students are encouraged to develop minors which relate to
art fields such as business, computer science, communications, music and theater. |
