Matt Woods a graduate of Monmouth College is now attending graduate school at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest in Northern Carolina.  He is currently working towards his Master of Divinity focusing on the Expository Preaching.  He reports that he is busy with the work load but is enjoying every moment of it.  He also wanted to send thanks to everyone at Monmouth for everything through his time here.

Emily Eddington, a recent graduate of Monmouth College and former MCTV anchor has just applied for the Associate Producer position at WSIL-TV, which is an ABC affiliate in Carterville, Il.  This position would include reporting and possibly sports related assignments.  She says that she has missed reporting and is looking forward to getting back into it more very soon.

Natalie Hall, a recent graduate of Monmouth College is currently working in the Business office for Kehoe Eye Care and Kehoe Properties. She deals with a bunch of different companies, it's fast-paced and she says that she enjoys it.

Lindsay Clark, former station manager of WMCR, has accepted a position with Prairie Communications in radio marketing here in Monmouth, IL.

Anthony Welty a recent graduate of Monmouth College, is now at Wahl and reports that, “things are going very well for the most part and I have definitely been learning each and every day.”  He was fortunate to be placed as a Marketing Project Coordinator in the consumer division for trimmers.

His main role so far has been what he would call "intracompany communications."  He corresponds with such departments as engineering, accounting, and the representatives to our Ningbo, China manufacturing facility to ensure that everyone is on the same page in thier marketing department.  He often process PCNs, or product change notifications, that inform all the relevant departments about marketing's tinkering with the trimmers or the packaging.

Recently, he has been assigned to help manage excess and obsolete inventory and help determine dispositions for historic items that have little or no use.  Often times, this leads him into creating a "close out" or "factory refurbished" trimmer that they then sell to such accounts as Big Lots.

This is Anthony’s thoughts on his experience at Wahl:  “Though some of this is what I would interpret as the standard training exercises that new employees engage in when first joining a larger company, I have taken quite a bit of satisfaction out of performing these tasks.  In addition to these everyday tasks, I have had a few tastes of "primetime" marketing that people like you and I are passionate about.  My second day on the job I was invited by my boss to go with him to Chicago and meet with our ad agency, Marketing Services, Inc.  There, we discussed and even practiced the execution of our huge "grassroots" promotion for the summer, the Wahl Let It Grow Tour.  The tour, which swung through such events as the Nascar races and music festivals, featured a trailer and truck that converted into a stage and trimming station for the masses of people at the events to get their facial hair trimmed up by one of Wahl's master barbers (pretty neat to walk into a job that has something like this just starting up.)  I was also sent out to Las Vegas for a weekend to represent Wahl at a music event that Wahl cosponsored and featured celebrities.  My role was to schmooze the celebrities and make sure that they were interacting with the free samples of Wahl product that I had sent out to the event.  Hopefully within the next few weeks, I will be giving a presentation to the entire marketing and sales division regarding data that we received from our warranty cards that I diagrammed into Powerpoint.  I have also been to two focus groups in Schaumburg and watched some new product development take off as a result of those qualitative affirmations.”
