The objective
portion of the final exam will be composed of questions and topics taken
from the material described below. Nothing will appear on that
portion of the
test that is not mentioned on the study guide. Items will be given
in the form of objective questions (e.g. fill in the blank, multiple choice,
etc.).
1. BE ABLE TO DEFINE THE TERMS MICRO-STRUCTURE AND MACRO- STRUCTURE LISTING AND DEFINING THE COMPONENT PARTS of each. (Web handout and notes)
2. BE ABLE TO LIST AND DEFINE THE STEPS IN THE "AMTOBUL" MODEL. 3. BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY and / or DEFINE THE FOLLOWING TERMS in a sentence or two and give examples where appropriate: (variously in notes and text)
4. List and explain the steps in the
"Three Step Process" for using support effectively. 5. BE ABLE TO IDENTIFY EFFECTIVE GUIDELINES FOR USING VISUAL AIDS AND DISTINGUISH THEM FROM INEFFECTIVE VISUAL AIDS
6. Be able to LIST AND/OR IDENTIFY each of the 5 functions of non-verbal messages, giving examples for each. (NV Web page)
7. Be able to define or IDENTIFY the proxemic distances commonly used in the United States.
8. BE ABLE TO GIVE OR IDENTIFY EXAMPLES OF OF EACH OF THE FIVE TYPES OF KENESIC CODES (e.g. emblems, illustrators, etc.)
9. BE ABLE TO GIVE OR IDENTIFY EXAMPLES OF EACH OF THE THREE TYPES OF SIGNS: ICONS, INDEXES AND SYMBOLS.
10. DESCRIBE THE THREE STEPS IN THE PERCEPTION PROCESS. ( Ch. 2 and web handout and notes )
