Welcome!
In addition to coursework, internships and practical experience in a concentration, a CATA student will learn the interrelationship of elements involved in all successful communication exchanges--e.g., audience analysis, message content, delivery options and context. CATA majors may work in business and organizational leadership, public relations, in journalism or radio and television, in corporate training, in education, or in live theatre (to name only a few career opportunities); all of these involve the need to understand and develop useful communication strategies. The Communication and Theatre Arts Department Learning Outcome Statement describes the knowledge and skills students majoring in Communication and Theatre Arts develop by the time they complete our program.
