The Pirates of Penzance set an attendance record at the Wells Theater with a virtually full house for all five performances

Everyone from the ages of eight to eighty found something to enjoy in this Victorian classic. Ageless songs like "I'm the Very Model of a Modern Major General" enlivened a comic story about a young pirate apprentice and his quest to fulfill his duty and win the hand of Mabel, the modern major general's daughter.. Thirty actors were onstage and the entire Monmuth College concert choir accompanied,

The show was jointly produced by the Music and Theatre departments and featured  music direction by Dr. Perry White, choreography by Dalene White, orchestral consultation by Dr. Jim Betts, stage designs by Prof. Doug Rankin, and general coordination by Dr. Jim De Young
