Stained Glass Painting I
September 20, 2008
This
workshop will guide you through the steps of drawing a design and applying
“liquid lead” to a piece of glass. The time between Part I and Part II is
necessary for the “liquid lead” to set up before painting.
Stained Glass Painting II
October 4, 2008
At Stained
Glass Painting II we will trim the “lead” and apply paint!
Mandalas
November 1, 2008
Circular
designs, often geometric, are found in cultures around the world, many of which
revere the circle as a powerful symbol. Mandala is a Sanskrit word for
“Magic Circle.” Their creation has been a part of human spiritual practice for
thousands of years.
The circle is merely a place to begin; it should not be permitted
to limit one’s imagination. Allowing oneself the freedom to remember there is
no right way to do this project is one key to allowing spiritual insight to
emerge.
Collage
February 7, 2009
Collage
allows images to blend together in new ways, opening one’s imagination to the
“thin places” where we encounter the Divine.
Scribbling w/ Ink & String
March 21, 2009
This
activity is designed to tap one’s inner source of spontaneous imagery. Using
string soaked in ink, we will twirl, dot, jab, dribble and scribble our way to
whatever insights emerge.
Painting Prayers
April 4, 2009
What might
a prayer look like if it were painted. Would it include words or not? What
images might it offer to God? Perhaps it would be an array of color in no
particular pattern. The only limit is your imagination!
