Seward Small Boat Harbor         Bear Glacier

Harbor seals on the rocks                   Baby Hump-backed Whales

                                                                   Adult Hump-backed Whale

The ice in glaciers looks very blue because the ice is so compressed that it absorbs all the

spectra of the light that hits it except for the blue that we see reflected.

Harbor seals rest on the ice floes that calve off the glacier where they are safe from whales.

Whales will not go into the areas of the fjords that have ice because the ice cuts their skin.
