BECOME A CO-CREATOR

Created in the image of God, we are called to use our creative gifts and talents.  The creative arts are both an avenue through which humans can gain spiritual experience and a means of expressing/ shaping/ communicating experience of the Divine.  One does not need to be a professional artist in order to add creative expression to one’s array of spiritual practices.  In some cases, art may be the only possible response to the majesty and mystery of God.  Furthermore, art offers a form of knowing that cannot be accessed in any other way; it connects us to a source of inner wisdom; it awakens us to awareness.

“Art’s primary role since the dawn of humanity has been to nurture the sacred dimension of life.”  –Cathy A. Malchiodi, The Soul’s Palette (Shambala Publications, 2002)
