PROTEIN PURIFICATION

Results:

·        Supernatant glowed under UV lamp

o       Therefore, GFP protein in supernatant

·        Column glowed under UV lamp

o       Therefore, GFP protein is bound to column resin

·        Collected wash buffer solution did not glow under UV lamp

o       Therefore, GFP proteins still bound to column resin but other proteins have been release due to the high concentration of H2O in wash buffer.

·        Collected TE buffer solution did glow under UV lamp

o       Therefore, GFP proteins were released from column resin due to the even higher concentration of H2O in TE buffer.
