Greetings we are the staff of the Monmouth College Biochemistry Department.  We have recently started our own industrial supply company of purified proteins.  Included in this web page is a brief overview of our abilities.  After viewing this site, we hope that you will consider us as a possible supplier of your future purified protein needs.

The source of the pGlo gene is from the bioluminescent jellyfish, Aequorea Victoria which  allows the jellyfish to fluoresce and glow in the dark.  E. coli can be transformed to express this gene (make the GFP protein) and cause the E. coli to glow green when exposed to UV light.
