INSERTION AND ISOLATION OF PLASMIDS

Purpose:
In order to observe the Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) we need competent E. coli to uptake the plasmid containing the pGlo gene.  For the green fluorescence of the protein to be produced, this gene needs to be turned on, regulated, by the presence of the sugar arabinose.
