Why I am Personally Interested in Forensic Science:
By: Rachael Hulick
Let me start with giving a little background information about my family
Great Grandfather Hulick: Chief Of Police
Great Grandfather Pavlet: Head Jailor, Knox County
Grandfather Hulick: State Policemen, Detective, Sheriff of Knox County, Asst.Warden, HenryC. Hill Correctional Facility
Father: Monmouth City policemen, Galesburg City policemen, Assistant Warden at Henry C. HIll correction Facility(present time).
Uncle Hulick: Fireman, City of Galesburg
As you can probably see my family has always been interested in the criminal aspect of our society. Family Gatherings are always filled with stories of old cases, prison stories, and stories about recent fires. I can remember riding in my father's and my Grandfather's squad Car as a child. I am guessing this is where my interest sprang from. I have always enjoyed hearing the stories about my fathers interviews with Richard Speck, who was originally from Monmouth, and John Wayne-Gacy who murdered so many young and innocent boys. I believe that this interest has lead me in the direction that my great grandfather , Grandfather, and father have went. I guess you could say it's in my blood. When I graduate I plan on going to graduate school so I can get the qualifications to someday work at a correctional facility as a Psychologist or in a juvenile facility.
