Medical usage vs. Cosmetic, Agriculture, and Athletic Benefits
Medical Use and Purpose
HGH replacement has numerous medical benefits. One of
the main and original benefits for was children that had a deficiency in growth
hormone production. Doctors would give the children with this disorder
enhancement therapy to help them grow. Increasing a child's height has
benefits such as improved self confidence and self image. Now with the use
of technology the use of HGH has totally changed. People in athletics are
taking it, it plays a role in cosmetics, and is used in the agriculture world.
Cosmetic
Today everyone wants to look young and unfortunately
HGH production decreases with age. This results in unwanted wrinkles, mood
swings, decreased sexual performance, weak bones, r
Who
would be for the use of HGH for Cosmetic Reasons Cosmetic Reasons?
People that would be for the use of HGH for cosmetic reasons
would be actors or models. They would be for it because they have to have
a good self image. An actor/model has to look good at all times. An
unattractive actor/model will not get attention if they don't have a fine
appearance. Wrinkles and an old appearance is not on high demand for the
consumers of America. People want to see attractive entertainers.
Who
would be against the use of HGH for Cosmetic Reasons?
People that
would be against this would people that aren't fortunate enough to use this
technology. If everyone else is improving their image and you can't, it will
make you look bad because they look better. Doctors might be against this
because of the side effects from the improper usage of HGH. The side
effects of over usage can be very deadly. Doctors may also feel that
people shouldn't use it for any other reason besides medical. They may
feel that it is exploiting the use of it.
Agriculture-Cows

American depends on quick and mass production of products.
Milk and meat is an important part to why farmers will raise cattle. The
farmer wants to produce as much milk from the cow before it goes to the
slaughter house. More milk equals more money which will goes to the
farmer's pocket. But the downside to raising cattle is it is expensive to feed
them and they destroy the land. Now cows are given bovine
somatotropin, which increases
the yield of milk the cow lactates. A cow normally produces milk for
about 300 days. The ethical problem here is that now cows that take
bovine, the cows may be expected to produce more milk. This means that the
cow may be milked more often (by the human) and which means it is being worked
harder. The farmer wants more bang for his buck and they will abuse the
animals by over working them. Natural production of milk from the cow
should be left alone. It produces the amount of milk that get secreted for
a reason.
Who
would be for the use of HGH for Agriculture use?
Farmers
would defiantly be for this. They need to get as much as they can out of
the cow. Increasing the production of lactation can only mean more milk
and money. Farmers may not care about how this can over work the cow
because all they see the cow is money. Now that the cow produce more milk,
the farmer will not have to purchase as many cows as he normally would.
He would make more profit and have less expenses. The consumer would
be for it because this would help keep the price of milk down. There would
be more production of milk with the same demand. When this occurs, it
keeps the price low. The consumer will want to spend as little as they can
to purchase a product and this would help prices to remain low.
Who
would be against the use of HGH for Agriculture use?
People that
would be against it would be farmers that don't have this technology. This
farmer would have to take whatever milk it got from his natural cow. He
would have less to provide to the market and wouldn't make as much money as a
farmer that has this technology. The prices of this product is now lower
and the natural farmer can't make as much money. If he wanted to compete
in production, he would have to buy more cows. He would lose more money
then what he could make if he has to do this.
Athletic Benefits
Athlete can use HGH to help improve their athletic
performance. This is very unethical. Athlete using HGH are cheating
because they are taking an unfair approach at improving performance. Why
should the athlete that is working hard naturally have to suffer because some
other athlete is taking HGH and not working as hard to get results? The
problem with regulating who is using HGH is because it is very hard to test for.
The doctor would have to look at the levels of HGH in athletes and then try to
come up with what the normal levels are. Using HGH is very unethical
because this is another way athletes can cheat to win.
Who
would be for the use of HGH in Athletics?
Of course
the athlete that can get hold of HGH would be for it. The athlete wouldn't
have to work as hard in the off season. So if he/she wants to take it easy
they can because HGH will cut their unwanted body fat and help them develop the
lean muscle fat. Some athletic fans/owners would be for it. Fans want to
see long homeruns hit, high flying slam dunks, and bone breaking tackles.
They are not interest in seeing a good defensive game. Fans want to see
lots of actions when they pay to see a game. HGH helps the athlete provide
these things for them. Owner want to meet the demands of the fans because
they fill the seats and bring in the money. This may result in the owners
encouraging athletes to do whatever they can to put fans in the seats.
Who would be
against of HGH in Athletics?
Athletes
that don't cheat would be against this. They work hard in the weight room
and off season. They don't want to be at a disadvantage because someone
cheated. They would want the opportunity to compete in a fair game.
Performance is what determines someone's salary. If they are competing
against someone that has an unfair advantage, it would make them earn less money
and make them upset they were cheated.
