INTG-401 Citizenship: Building Communities This course investigates the concepts of community, civic engagement, social capital, and the like, through study of classic statements (deToqueville, Democracy in America) as well as contemporary studies (Putnam, Bowling Alone: The Collapse and Revival of American Community). As students engage in academic study of these concepts, they will simultaneously involve themselves in the local community through community-based research.
