THEME: "Classical Mythology in Art"

                        

The theme of CLAS230 Classical Mythology this semester is an examination of myths from Ovid's Metamorphoses in art from ancient Greece to the present. Some of the questions addressed in this course include:

What myths are particularly popular for artists from ancient times to the    present?

Why are some myths more popular than others?

How do artists adapt these stories to visual art?

Are some myths more popular in some time periods than others? If so, why?
