Summary of Goals and Requirements

Your final grade will be determined in the following way:

See Grading Scale for information about the equivalence of numeric and letter grades.

In-Class Work
There will be a series of quizzes, both announced and unannounced, in class writing assignments, group work and other in-class activities. The average of these activities will be weighted as 30% of your final grade.

Short Writing Assignments
There will be regular writing assignment, based upon topics discussed in class. These assignments will include accurate and specific reference to course materials as well as your own response to this material. The instructor reserves the right not to accept any assignment submitted after the due date. The average of these assignments will be 35% of your final grade.

Exam
There will be one exam which will be 35% of your final grade.
