Minutes of the Second General Business Meeting of the Illinois Classical Conference held on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, in the 2nd Floor Foyer of the Crown Center for the Humanities, Loyola University, Lake Shore Campus, Chicago, Ill. 60626.

Call to order: With a quorum present (10 required) President Alice Mulberry called the meeting to order at 12:30pm.

Announcements: President Mulberry reiterated the bus trip to the Indianapolis Art Museum on 11/17/07. Loyola’s own John Makowski will lead a theater party to the Court Theater’s production of Seneca’s Thyestes in Hyde Park on 10/20/07. Then, Loyola’s Dept. of Classical Studies and Furibunda will sponsor a bloody reading of Seneca’s Thyestes with John Makowski performing on 10/31/07 at the Lake Shore Campus.

Resolutions Committee: Outgoing Chair James Chochola thanked the Tetrarchs (Edwin Menes, John Makowski, James Keenan, Brian Lavelle) and Abigail Schmidt of Loyola University, Alice and Jay Mulberry, the presenters, and everyone who made the meeting such a success. The Resolutions will be published in the Augur. Adding to the Resolutions, Marie Navik expressed her appreciation to President Mulberry for a most enjoyable experience at this year’s conference.

Adjournment: There being no further business, President Mulberry thanked everyone for coming and called for a motion to adjourn. Brian Tibbets so moved, seconded by Lisa Adams. The motion passed by acclamation, and the meeting adjourned at 12.45pm.
