Are you ever worried about finding the time to eat lunch? Are you planning to student teach or work off-campus during normal eating hours? A solution you may or may not have heard about is the cafeteria’s box lunches. Basically, if you have a meal plan, you can sign up to receive personalized box lunches that you can take and eat at your convenience. A box lunch will count as one of your board meals without affecting the number of meal exchanges for Scotland Yard or the coffee shop. If this sounds like an appealing option, go to the Food Services office in Stockdale and pick up a box lunch order form, or go online to http://department.monm.edu/food_service/box-lunch/index.htm and print an order form. You can choose which days you want box lunches, and you can even fill out a separate form for each day to vary your meal choices. On the order form, you can choose which type of sandwich or microwave entrée you want, as well as a piece of fruit, dessert, and a beverage. Bruce Cvancara, director of Food Services at Monmouth College, also explained that you can make special requests such as chef salads, and they often put extra items in the lunches, like a bag of chips. After turning in your order form to the Food Services office, Aramark staff will pack your food in a convenient, cardboard lunchbox for you to pick up when you want it. Cvancara said they are packaged the afternoon prior to when you need it, so you may pick up lunches the night before or as early as 7 a.m. the morning of, in the cafeteria refrigerator. If you ever want to change your box lunch order, just fill out a new order form and cancel the old one. Cvancara commented that around 25 box lunches are prepared each day for student teachers. Special arrangements can also be made for athletic teams or people who simply work during normal eating hours. |
