The Department of
Modern Foreign Languages at Monmouth College, a private liberal arts
college in west central Illinois, invites applications for a full time,
non-tenure-track Spanish position for 2012-13, to teach elementary,
intermediate and advanced Spanish language classes.
We seek a dynamic
and collaborative educator with innovative approaches to teaching
Spanish language with native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and
in English. Ph.D. or ABD preferred; M.A. considered with relevant
teaching experience. Teaching load is 3 courses per semester.

resignation, Monmouth College, a liberal arts college and member of the
Associated Colleges of the Midwest, seeks a one-year replacement in the
Department of Theatre for 2012-13. The ideal candidate would teach
Beginning and Advanced Acting, Script Analysis, Principles of Directing,
Theatre for Social Change, and direct one main stage show (6 total
courses for the year). Master’s degree required, MFA or Ph.D. preferred.

The Monmouth
College department of Educational Studies seeks an Assistant/Associate
tenure track position to serve as an educational generalist in the
department’s teacher education program. The position will commence
August 2012.
Monmouth College

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities
will include teaching education courses at the undergraduate level.
Other duties expected: serving on faculty committees, advising
undergraduate students, supervising student teachers, faculty
governance and teaching in the college general education curriculum.
Specific courses will be assigned according to the candidates
background and experience. Responsibilities include teaching in the
following areas: middle grades curriculum, educational psychology,
social studies (Geography, History & Citizenship Education) and possibly
special education and technology
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful
candidate must have earned a Ph.D. in Teacher Education, Curriculum and
Instruction or other closely related field and must have a minimum of
3-5 years of experience in a U.S. K-12 classroom. In addition to
successful teaching skills, he or she must also have demonstrated
effective written, interpersonal and collaborative communication skills
and the motivation, professionalism, and understand the goals of a
liberal arts education.

successful candidate will be able to supply evidence of motivation,
professionalism, collaboration, and an understanding of the goals of a
liberal arts education.
