Open a Web Site

Open Expression Web by clicking on the Start
button and selecting Programs – General Programs – Internet
– Microsoft Expression Web.

Click on the File menu and select
Open Site.

- In the Site name field, enter the full address
of the site that you want to open (e.g.,
http://personal.monm.edu/jdoe).

Click on the Open button.
- On the logon window, in the
User name field, enter NT1\ in
front of your user name (e.g., NT1\jdoe).
- In the Password field, enter your Monmouth
College network password.
- Click on the OK button.
Note: The next time that you want to open your web
site in Expression Web, click on the File menu,
select Recent Sites, and select the site from the
list.
Create a Home Page (If
Necessary)
If your web site does not have a default.htm or index.htm
file, then you'll need to create one.
IMPORTANT! The default.htm or index.htm
is the web site's home page. Do not change the name of this
file or your site visitors will not be able to access it.
(Other pages you create can have whatever file names you
wish.)
To create a default.htm or index.htm file:
- Click on the New Document
toolbar button.
- In the File name field, enter
default or index.
(Type the file name in all lowercase letters.)

- Click on the Change title button.
- Enter a page title for the home page. (The page
title displays on the browser window's title bar.)

- Click on the OK button.
- Click on the Save button.
Create a New Folder
- Click on the New Folder button at the top of
the Folder List.

Enter a name for the folder.

Press the Enter key.
