Hyperlinks
To change the
hyperlink colors on a Web page:
- Right-click
on the Web page and select Page Properties. The Page Properties window appears.
- Click on the
Formatting tab.
- Under Colors, click on the
Hyperlink, Visited hyperlink, and Active hyperlink down arrows
and select the desired colors.
- Click on the
OK
button. The hyperlink colors change.

IMPORTANT! To link to a file that's on the F:
or C: drive (or other drive), you must first copy and paste
the file into the main Web site folder. Then, you can create a
hyperlink to the file that is in this folder. If you create a
hyperlink to a file that is NOT located in the main Web site folder,
then you will not be able to access the file via the Internet.
To create a hyperlink to a Microsoft Office
or other file:
- Copy and paste the file (.doc, .ppt, .xls,
etc.) into the main web folder.

Select/highlight the text that you want to make
into a hyperlink.

Right-click on the highlighted text and select
Hyperlink. The Insert Hyperlink window appears.

Under Link to, make sure that
Existing File or Web Page is selected.

Click on the file that you want to link to.

Click on the OK button. The hyperlink
appears.

To create a hyperlink to a page that is inside your Web
site:
- Create and save the Web page that you want
to link (this can be a blank page).
- Select/highlight the text that you
want to make into a hyperlink.
- Right-click on the highlighted text and select
Hyperlink. The Insert Hyperlink window appears.
Note: You can also access the Insert Hyperlink
window by pressing Ctrl + K.
- Under Link to, make sure that
Existing File or Web Page is selected.
- Click on the Web page that you want to
link to.
- Click on the
OK button. The
hyperlink appears.

To create a hyperlink to a page that is outside your Web
site:
- Select/highlight the text that you
want to make into a hyperlink.
- Right-click on the highlighted text and select
Hyperlink. The Insert Hyperlink window appears.
Note: You can also access the Insert Hyperlink
window by pressing Ctrl + K.
- Under Link to, make sure that
Existing File or Web Page is selected.
- In the
Address field, enter the full address of the Web page that
you want to link to (e.g., http://www.monm.edu).
- Click on the
OK button. The
hyperlink appears.

To create an e-mail
hyperlink:
- Select/highlight the text that you
want to make into an e-mail hyperlink.
- Right-click on the highlighted text and select
Hyperlink. The Insert Hyperlink window appears.
Note: You can also access the Insert Hyperlink
window by pressing Ctrl + K.
- Under Link to select
E-mail
Address.
- In the E-mail address field,
enter the e-mail address (e.g.,
jdoe@monm.edu).
- Click on the
OK button. The
e-mail hyperlink appears.

To create a
hyperlink so that opens in a new window:
- Create the
hyperlink.
- Right-click
on the hyperlink and select Hyperlink Properties. The
Hyperlink Properties window appears.
- Click on the Target Frame button. The Target Frame
window appears.
- Under Common targets, click on New Window, as
shown circled below.

- Click on the OK button. When you click on the
hyperlink, it opens in a new window.
