Pictures
To add a solid line border to a picture:
- Right-click on the picture and select Picture Properties.
The Picture Properties window appears.
- On the Appearance tab, in the Border thickness field
(shown circled below), enter the desired value.

- Click on the OK button. The border appears.

To add a picture from a file to a Web page:
- Click on the Web page where you want to insert
the picture.
- Click on the Insert menu and select
Picture - From File.
The Picture window appears.
- Click
on the picture file that you want to add.
- Click
on the Insert button. The picture appears on the
Web page.
- Save
the Web page. The Save Embedded Files window appears.
- If
desired, click on the Rename button and enter a different
file name for the picture file.
- If
necessary, click
on the Change Folder button and select the images or
graphics folder.
- Click
on the OK button twice to return to the Web page. The
picture file is saved in the images or graphics
folder.

To add a picture
from Clip Art to a Web page:
- Click on the Web page where you want to insert the
picture.
- Click on the Insert menu and select
Picture - Clip Art.
The Clip Art pane appears.
- In the Search for field, enter a search
term (e.g., balloons).
- Click on the Search in down arrow and make
sure that Everywhere is selected.
- Click
on the Results should be down arrow and select Clip Art
(graphics), Photographs (images), and/or Movies (animated
graphics).
- Click
on the Go button. Clip Art thumbnails appear.
Note: To preview an animated graphic, click on the gray bar
on the right side of the thumbnail and select Preview/Properties.
- Click
on the thumbnail of the Clip Art picture that you want to add. The
Clip Art picture appears on the Web page.
- Save
the Web page. The Save Embedded Files window appears.
- Click on the Rename button and enter a
more meaningful
file name for the picture file.
- If
necessary, click
on the Change Folder button and select the images or
graphics folder.
- Click
on the OK button twice to return to the Web page. The Clip
Art picture file is saved in the images or graphics
folder.

To create a
thumbnail, right-click on the picture and select
AutoThumbnail. The thumbnail appears.
Note:
To make changes to the thumbnail, click on the Tools menu, select
Page Options, and then click on the
AutoThumbnail tab.

To crop a picture:
- Right-click on the picture and select Show Pictures Toolbar.
The Pictures toolbar appears.
- Click on the Crop
toolbar
button. A crop box appears on the picture, as shown below.

Drag the crop box around the portion of the picture
that you want to keep.
- Click on the Crop
toolbar
button. The picture is cropped.

To resize a picture:
- Click on the picture. Handles appear around the
picture.
- Drag one of the corner handles to make the
picture larger or smaller. The picture resizes,
and the Picture Actions
button appears.
- Click on the Picture Actions button and select
Resample Picture to Match Size. The physical
size of the image or graphic changes.
Note: You can also resize an image or graphic by right-clicking
on it and selecting Picture Properties.

To specify
alternate text for a picture on a Web page:
- Right-click on the picture and select Picture Properties. The
Picture Properties window
appears.
- Click on the General tab.
- Under Alternative representations, in the
Text field, enter a brief description of the image or
graphic.
- Click on the OK button. The alternate text
appears when you position the mouse pointer over the picture in a
browser window.
