Troubleshooting Tips
If you are having trouble accessing a Web site in FrontPage, then try
changing the proxy settings in Internet Explorer.
To change the proxy settings in Internet Explorer:
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click on the Tools menu and select Internet Options. The
Internet Options window appears.
- Click on the Connections tab.
- Click on the LAN Settings button. The
Local Area Network (LAN) Settings window appears.
- Uncheck the Automatically detect settings and/or Use
automatic configuration scripts checkboxes, as shown below.

- Check the Use a
proxy server for your LAN checkbox, enter 10.10.0.1
in the Address field, enter 8080 in the Port
field, and check the Bypass proxy server for local addresses
checkbox, as shown below.

- Click on the Advanced button.
- In the Exceptions area, enter the base
URL for the Web site that you want to work on. (For example, if the
Web site's URL is
http://personal.monm.edu/jdoe, then enter
personal.monm.edu, as shown below.)

- Click on the OK button three times to return to Internet
Explorer.
