Web Pages
To change the
Web page background color:
- Right-click
on the Web page and select Page Properties. The Page
Properties window appears.
- Click on the Formatting tab.
- Under Colors, click on the Background
down arrow and select More Colors. The More Colors window appears.
- Click on the desired color.
- Click on the OK button twice to return to
the Web page. The background color changes.

To add a picture to the Web page background:
- Copy and paste the picture
file that you want to add into the images or graphics
folder.
- Right-click
on the Web page and select Page Properties. The Page
Properties window appears.
- Click on the Formatting tab.
- Under Background, click on the Browse
button. The Select Background
Picture window appears.
- Open the images or graphics folder.
- Click on the file that you want to add.
- Click on the Open button.
- Click on the OK button. The picture appears on the Web page background.

To change the Web page title:
- Right-click on the page and select Page
Properties. The Page Properties window appears.
- On the General tab, in the Title field, change the
Web page title.
- Click on the OK button. The Web page title is changed.

To create a home page for a Web site:
- Open the main Web site folder in FrontPage. (For more
information, see
Open a Web Site.)
- Click on the
Create a
new normal page
toolbar button. A new Web page appears.
- Click on the Save
toolbar button. The
Save
As window appears.
- In the File name field, enter default
or index (use all lower case letters).
Note: The home page file name must be either
default or
index or it won't display when you try to access the Web site
from a browser.
- Click on the Change title button. The
Set Page Title window appears.
- In the Page title field, enter a title for
the home page.
Note: The page title is the text that displays on the title bar
at the top of the browser window. You may use spaces and upper and
lower case letters for the page title.
- Click on the Save toolbar button. The home
page appears in the Folder List.

To create and save a
new Web page:
- Click on the
Create a
new normal page
toolbar button. A new Web page appears.
Note: You can also create a new Web page by pressing
Ctrl + N.
- Click on the Save
toolbar button. The Save As
window appears.
- In the File name field, enter a file name
for the Web page.
(Use lower case letters and
separate words with hyphens or
periods).
Note: Web page file names can be whatever you'd like, except for the home page. The home page file name must be either
default or
index or it won't display when you try to access the Web site
from a browser.
- Click on the Change title button. The
Set Page Title window appears.
- In the Page title field, enter a title for
the Web page.
Note: The page title is the text that displays on the title bar
at the top of the browser window. You may use spaces and upper and
lower case letters for the page title.
- Click on the Save button. The Web page
appears in the Folder List.

To delete a Web page:
- In the Folder List, right-click on the Web page
that you want to delete and select Delete. A message displays that asks
whether you want to delete the file.
- Click on the Yes button. The Web page is
deleted.

To preview a Web page
in Internet Explorer:
- Save the Web page.
- Click on the Preview in Microsoft Internet
Explorer 6.0
toolbar button. Internet Explorer opens and displays the Web page.
Note: You can also preview a Web page in Internet Explorer
by pressing Ctrl + Shift + B.

If you make a change to a Web page and don't see
it when you view the page in your browser, then it may be
because you need to refresh the Web page. (Refreshing the Web page
causes the latest version of the Web page to load and display in the browser window.)
To refresh a Web page
in Internet Explorer:
- Click on the Refresh
toolbar button. The latest version of the Web page displays.
Note: You can also refresh a page in Internet Explorer by
pressing F5.

To rename a Web page:
- In the Folder List, right-click on the Web page
that you want to rename and select Rename.
- Enter the new file name along with the .htm
extension (e.g., mypage.htm).
Note: If you do not include the .htm extension on the end
of the file name, then you will not be able to open the Web page.
- Press the Enter key. The Web page is
renamed.

To switch between open Web pages, press and hold the Ctrl key
and then press the Tab key. Top
