Assignment Activities


Overview

The assignment activity is a graded task. The two most common assignments in Moodle are Upload Single File and Offline Assignment. Use Upload Single File for tasks that require students to submit a file to you in Moodle. Use the Offline Assignment for tasks that students will perform outside of Moodle.

Add an Assignment Activity

To add an assignment activity to your course:

  1. Click on the Turn editing on button.
     
  2. Click on the desired Add an activity... down arrow and select the desired assignment type.
     
  3. In the Assignment name field, enter a name for the assignment.
     
  4. In the Description field, enter a short description of the assignment.
     
  5. Specify the other assignment options.

    Note: For more information about the assignment options, see Adding/editing an assignment.
     
  6. Click on the Save changes and return to course button.

Edit an Assignment Activity

To make a change to an existing assignment activity:

  1. On the course home page, click on the assignment.
     

  2. Click on the Update this Assignment button in the upper-right corner of the page.
     

  3. Make the desired change.
     

  4. Click on the Save changes and return to course button at the bottom of the page.
