Overview
Moodle has many different blocks that you can add to your course home
page.
Common course blocks and descriptions are below.
- Participants - Clicking on
Participants in the People
block shows the names of all of the students in the course.

- Activities - The Activities
block contains all of the activities in the course organized by
type.

- Calendar - The Calendar block shows due dates for assignments and quizzes along with
other course events that you create.

- Recent Activity - The Recent Activity
block shows any changes to the course that have occurred since
the last time you logged in.

- Latest News - The Latest News
block shows recent posts that have been made in the course News forum.

- Upcoming Events - The Upcoming Events
block shows upcoming due dates and other events from the course
calendar.

Add a Block
- Click on the Turn editing on
button in the upper-right corner of your course home page.
- In the Blocks block, shown below, click on the
Add...
down arrow and select the desired block.

Create a Custom Block
- Click on the Turn editing on
button in the upper-right corner of your course home page.
- In the Blocks block, click on the Add...
down arrow and select HTML.

- Click on the block's Configuration tool.

- Enter the desired content.
Note: To insert a picture, click on the Insert Image
button. Then, click on the Browse button, select the
desired picture file, click on the Upload button, click on
the picture's file name in the File Browser area, enter an
alternative text description of the picture in the alternate text
field, and click on the OK button.
- Click on the Save changes button at the bottom of the page.
Remove a Block
- Click on the Turn editing on
button in the upper-right corner of your course home page.
- Click on the block's Delete tool.
