Enrolling and Unenrolling
Students
Overview
Enroll Students Yourself
Create an Enrollment Key
Unenroll a Student
Overview
To enroll students in your course, you can either enroll them
yourself or you can have your students enroll themselves.
Note:
By default, anyone with a Monmouth College user name and password can
enroll in your course. If you want to restrict enrollment to the
students who are registered for your course, then use an enrollment key.
(For more information, see
Create an Enrollment Key.)
Enroll Students Yourself
- In the Administration block on your course home page, click
on
Assign roles.
- Click on Student.

- Enter a student's last name in the Search field
at the bottom of the list of potential users on the right side of
the page.

- Click on the Search button.
Note: If you are unable to locate a student, then please
call the Information Systems Center at x2106.
- Click on the Add
button. The student's name moves to the list of existing users on
the left side of the page.
-
Repeat steps 3 - 5 for each student that you want to enroll.
-
When you are finished enrolling students, return to the course home
page.
Create an Enrollment Key
By default, anyone with a Monmouth College user name and password can
enroll in your course. If you want to restrict enrollment, then you can
create an enrollment key (i.e., password) and give it to your students.
The first time your students access your course, they will be required
to enter the enrollment key in order to enroll.
Note: Using an enrollment key is not a foolproof method for
restricting enrollment because your students may share it with other
students who are not registered for your course. If an unauthorized
student enrolls in your course using your enrollment key, then you will
have to unenroll the student. (For more information, see
Unenroll a Student.) Once all of your students
have enrolled, you can change the enrollment key and not give it out to
anyone. This will keep future unauthorized students from enrolling in
your course.
To create an enrollment key for your course:
- In the Administration block on your course home page, click
on
Settings.
- In the Enrolment key field, enter a password.

- Click on the Save changes button at the bottom of the page.
Unenroll a Student
- In the Administration block on your course home page, click
on Assign roles.
-
Click on Student.

-
Click on the student's name in the list of existing users on the
left side of the page.
-
Click on the Remove
button. The student's name moves to the list of potential users on
the right side of the page.
-
Return to the course home page.
