Enter Grades for an
Activity
Enter Grades for an Activity by Section
Enter Grades for a Group
Activity
Overview
When you are ready to enter grades for an activity, open
the activity by clicking on it on your course home page.
Then, in the upper-right corner of the page, click on
View [number] of submitted assignments.

On the Submissions page, there are two
ways you can enter grades. You can either use the
Grade window or you can turn on the Quick
Grading feature (shown below) to enter grades and
feedback on the same page.

Enter Grades for an Activity
- On the course home page, click on the activity for which you want
enter grades.
- In the upper-right corner of the page, click on View [number]
of submitted assignments. (Offline assignments will always
display View 0 submitted assignments.)

- If desired, turn on the Quick Grading feature by
selecting the Allow quick grading checkbox and then
clicking the Save preferences button.

- Either click on a student's Grade link to access the
Grade window or enter the student's grade using the
Grade down arrow and Comment field. (If you don't see the
Grade down arrow and
Comment field, then you will need to turn on
Quick Grading.)

If you are using the Grade window, then click on
the Grade down arrow, select the desired value, enter
feedback, and click on the Save and show next
button. When you enter the grade for the last student,
click on the Save changes button.
If you are using the Grade
down arrows and Comment fields, then, after
you have entered all of the grades, click on the
Save all my feedback button.
Enter Grades for
an Activity by Section
If your course is set up to use separate sections, then you
can enter grades for each section by following the directions
below. (For information about setting up a course with separate
sections, see Set Up a Course
with Separate Sections.)
- On the course home page, click on the activity for which you want
enter grades.
- In the upper-right corner of the page, click on View [number]
of submitted assignments. (Offline assignments will always
display View 0 submitted assignments.)

- Click on the Separate groups
down arrow and select the desired section.

- If desired, turn on the Quick Grading feature
by selecting the Allow quick grading checkbox and
then clicking the Save preferences button.

- Either click on a student's Grade link to access the
Grade window or enter the student's grade using the
Grade down arrow and Comment
field. (If you don't see the Grade down arrow and
Comment field, then you will need to turn on
Quick Grading.)

If you are using the Grade window, then click on
the Grade down arrow, select the desired value, enter
feedback, and click on the Save and show next
button. When you enter the grade for the last student,
click on the Save changes button.
If you are using the Grade
down arrows and Comment fields, then, after
you have entered all of the grades, click on the
Save all my feedback button.
Enter Grades for a Group Activity
- On the course home page, click on the activity for which you want
enter grades.
- In the upper-right corner of the page, click on View [number]
of submitted assignments. (Offline assignments will always
display View 0 submitted assignments.)
- In the upper-left corner of the page, click on the
Visible groups or Separate groups down
arrow and select the desired group.

- If desired, turn on the Quick Grading feature
by selecting the Allow quick grading checkbox and
then clicking the Save preferences button.

- Either click on a student's Grade
link to access the Grade window or enter the
student's grade using the Grade down arrow and
Comment field. (If you don't see
the Grade down arrow and Comment
field, then you will need to turn on Quick Grading.)

If you are using the Grade window, then click on
the Grade down arrow, select the desired value, enter
feedback, and click on the Save and show next
button. When you enter the grade for the last student,
click on the Save changes button.
