Resources
A resource can be a file that you upload to your course, such as a
syllabus, a link to a Web page, or a short Web page that you create in
Moodle.
Top
When you upload a file to your course, it is stored on the
Moodle server. You can rename and delete this file, but you cannot make changes to it. If you need to make changes to
a file that you've uploaded, then you must make the changes to the copy
of file that's on your
computer and then re-upload it.
IMPORTANT! Students will not have access to an uploaded file until you create a
link to it on your home page.
To upload a file and create a link to it on your home
page:
- Click on the Turn editing on button.
- Click on the desired Add a resource... down arrow and
select Link to a file or web site.
- In the Name field, enter a name for the file.
- In the Summary field, enter a short description of the
file.
- Click on the Choose or upload a file button.

- Click on the Upload a file
button and upload the file.

- After the file has been uploaded, put a checkmark in the checkbox to the left of the file
name, and then click on Choose in the Action
column.

- Click on the Save changes and return to course button.

If you want to quickly make information available to
your students, then you can enter it on a Moodle Web page.
IMPORTANT! Moodle Web pages do not work well when you have more
than several paragraphs of text. If you want to enter a lot of text, then
consider creating a Web page using FrontPage and linking to it instead.
(For more information, please call the Information Systems Center at x2106.)
