Overview

The Message Center public folders are shared by everyone on campus. It's against Monmouth College policy to send mass e-mails, so if you have an announcement that you want faculty, staff, and/or students to read, post it in one or more of the Message Center public folders.

Access the Message Center Public Folders

You can access the Message Center public folders from Outlook and Outlook Web App.

In Outlook, the Message Center folders display on the right side of the Outlook Today page.

Note: If the Message Center area is empty on the Outlook Today page, then you can access the Message Center folders by clicking the Folder List Folder List Icon icon at the bottom of the Navigation pane on the left side of the window, clicking the plus sign in front of Public Folders, clicking the plus sign in front of All Public Folders, and clicking the plus sign in front of Message Center.

In Outlook Web Access, you can access the Message Center public folders by clicking Public Folders in the lower-left corner of the page and then clicking the arrow in front of Message Center.

Post a Message in a Message Center Public Folder

  1. Open the folder in which you want to post the message.
  2. On the Home tab, click New Post.

  3. Enter a subject line.
  4. Type your message.
  5. If desired, set an expiration date for the message. (Click the File tab, click Properties, select the Expires after checkbox, specify the desired expiration date and time, and click the Close button.)
  6. On the Discussion tab, click Post.
