MC Home - ISC Home - Help Documentation - Report Manager - Troubleshooting Troubleshooting Report a Problem If you discover a problem with a report, such as missing or incorrect data, then please call the Information Systems Center (x2106). IMPORTANT! Before calling the Information Systems Center,
take a screen capture of the parameters that display underneath the
report title at the top of the report (see example below) or copy
the information directly off of the web page and paste it in a Word
document or e-mail message. (You also may print the first page of
the report to a PDF file.) When describing the problem, be as specific as possible and try to provide as much information as you can about the problem. For example, if data for a person is incomplete, then be prepared to provide the person’s ID number whenever possible. If you export a report to Excel and it does not sort correctly or you receive an error message that says, “This operation requires the merged cells to be identically sized,” then try unmerging all of the merged cells. To do this:
If you still cannot sort the report, then export the report to a CSV file. (For more information, see Export a Report to a CSV File.) Green Triangles Appear in Excel If you export a report to Excel and see a column of numbers with green triangles in each cell, then this usually means that the numbers are stored as text. Leaving the numbers stored as text should not cause any problems with sorting or calculations, but if it does (or if you just want remove the green triangles), then you will need to convert the numbers stored as text to numbers.
To convert numbers stored as text to numbers, select the cells that
have green triangles, click on the error button
Leading Zeros Have Disappeared in Excel Exporting a report to a CSV file or converting numbers stored as text to numbers may cause leading zeros to disappear. If this happens, then you can re-format the numbers using a custom number format. For example, to add leading zeros to a column of ID numbers, select all of the ID numbers, right-click on the selected cells, and select Format Cells. Then, on the Number tab, select Custom, enter 0000000 in the Type field, and click on the OK button. Error Message: "While renaming a sheet...you entered an invalid file name." This error message occurs when you export a report to a CSV file, select Open (instead of Save) on the File Download window, rename the worksheet, and then try to save the Excel file. If you receive this message, then close Excel using the Task Manager, re-export the report as a CSV file, and click the Save button on the File Download window. You should then be able to rename the worksheet and save the Excel file. Error Message: "Unable to Load Client Print Control” If you receive the “Unable to load client print control” error message when trying to print from Report Manager, then an Active X control needs to be installed on your computer. Call the Information Systems Center (x2106). Your Computer Reboots When you Try to Print from Report Manager If you try to print from Report Manager and your computer reboots, then please contact the Information System Center (x2106). Can't Use the Horizontal Scroll Bar in Internet Explorer If you can't use the horizontal scroll bar because it stretches across the entire length of the browser window, try scrolling down using the far right vertical scroll bar to display the second horizontal scroll bar, which you should then be able to use to scroll left and right. |
