Transferring Calls


Transfer a Caller to Another Person's Voice Mail

To transfer a caller to another person's voice mail:

  1. Place the caller on hold as you normally would.
     
  2. Dial the Unity internal phone number 2222. Either the Monmouth College greeting plays or you are prompted to enter your voice mail password.
     
  3. If you hear the Monmouth College greeting, then immediately enter the voice mail recipient’s phone extension, press the pound ( # ) key, and then press 2. Otherwise, immediately press the pound key ( # ). Then, when you hear the Monmouth College greeting begin to play, immediately enter the voice mail recipient’s phone extension, press the pound key ( # ), and press 2.
     
  4. Transfer the caller (as you normally would) to the recipient’s voice mail.

Transfer Calls Directly to Your Voice Mail Using the Phone

To transfer calls to your voice mail using the phone:

  1. Dial the Unity internal phone number 2222 (from a campus phone) or dial the Unity external phone number (309) 457-2222 (from an off-campus phone).
     
  2. As soon as you hear the Monmouth College greeting ("Hello, you have reached Monmouth College..."), press the star ( * ) key and, when prompted, enter your voice mail ID and password. You are logged on to Unity.

    Note: At any time, you can press the star ( * ) key to back up/cancel or press the pound ( # ) key to skip ahead.

  3. Press 4 to access the Setup Options menu.
     
  4. Press 4 to access the Transfer Settings menu.
     
  5. Press 1 to change your standard transfer rule.
     
  6. Press 2 to send callers to voice mail.
     
  7. Exit Unity by pressing the star key ( * ) until you are backed out of the system and then hang up.

Transfer Calls Directly to Your Voice Mail Using the Unity Assistant

To transfer calls to your voice mail using the Unity Assistant:

  1. Open your Web browser and go to http://ntvoice/ciscopca. The Log In page appears.
     
  2. In the User Name field, enter your Monmouth College user name.
     
  3. In the Password field, enter your Monmouth College password.
     
  4. In the Domain field, enter NT1.
     
  5. If desired, click on the Remember user name and Remember domain checkboxes.
     
  6. Click on the Log In button. The Cisco Personal Communications Assistant page appears.
     
  7. Click on the Cisco Unity Assistant link, shown circled below. The Unity Assistant page appears.

  1. On the menu bar, click on Preferences – Transfer and Screening.
     
  2. Under Call Transfer, click on My personal greeting.
     
  3. Click on the Save button.
