How do I give an on-line course
evaluation?

How do I give an on-line
course evaluation?
Prior to administering an on-line course evaluation, you will
need to set it up using the MC Survey Management program. Setup
involves specifying the start and end times for the
administration and sending notification e-mails (ballots) to
students. The notification e-mail contains a link that your
students must click in order to access the evaluation.
Your students cannot access the evaluation unless they receive
this e-mail!
After you set up the evaluation,
you should make arrangements with another faculty member to
monitor the evaluation process for you.
Note:
The on-line evaluation is designed to work on any web
device, including college computers, student owned laptops, and
smartphones.
Note: If you prefer not to administer an
on-line course evaluation, then please make arrangements with
Leah to obtain the necessary materials for administering the
paper version of the course evaluation.
To set up an evaluation using the MC Survey Management
program:
- Open a web browser and go to the Monmouth College home page (http://www.monmouthcollege.edu).
- Click MyMC at the bottom of the page.

Note: If you are using your personal computer or an
off-campus computer, then you will be prompted to log in to the Microsoft
Forefront Threat Management Gateway page after you click the MyMC link. To
log in to this page, select the public computer or private computer option, enter your
Monmouth College user name and password, and click Log On.
After you log in, the MyMC page will appear, and you may proceed to step 3.

- Click Faculty Resources on the
right side of the MyMC page.

- Click Start program across from
On-Line Class Surveys/Evaluations.

- On the Manage tab, click the Select a survey and
Select survey
administration down arrows and select the type of
evaluation you want to administer and the desired class.

Note: If the class is not
listed, then click the
Add Administration tab, select the class
for which you want to create an administration, and then
click the Create Administration button.
- Select the Start and End
times for the survey administration. (Students will not be
able to access the survey outside of this date/time range.)

- Click the Save Date/Time Changes
button.
- Click the Ballots tab.
- For Faculty/Course
Evaluations: You either may schedule a time for
the notification e-mails to be sent automatically
or you may send the e-mails yourself. You also may request a
copy of the evaluation by clicking the Send Me a
Ballot button.
To schedule a time for the e-mails to be sent automatically, specify the
desired date and then put a checkmark in the Enable Schedule checkbox at
the bottom of the Ballots tab.

To send the e-mails yourself, click the
Toggle Selections button to select all of the students
and then click the Send Selected Students E-Mail
button.
For Global Perspectives
Evaluations: To send the notification e-mails,
click the Toggle Selections
button to select all of the students and then click the Send
Selected Students Email button.
If you want to send another notification e-mail to students who have not yet
completed the evaluation, then click the Select
(check) All Students not Completed button and then
click the Send Selected Students Email
button.
If you’d like to receive a copy of the evaluation, then click the
Send Me a Ballot button.
- If desired, click the Class Questions
tab and add custom questions to the survey.
Note: To add a new question, click the
Add New button. To add an existing
question, click the Add From List button.

- When you are finished setting up the survey, close the browser window.
- When you are finished using the MyMC page, close the browser
window.
IIMPORTANT! When you are going to be away from your office computer, either lock it by pressing the Ctrl + Alt +
Delete keys at the same time and then selecting Lock this computer or log
off so that no one can access your MyMC page.
How do my students
complete an on-line course evaluation?
In order to complete the evaluation, your students must
click the survey link contained in the automated e-mail
they received. (Instruct your students to click the
survey link and then follow the instructions on the form.)

When a student has completed the evaluation, he/she
must click Finish to save his/her
answers. (After clicking Finish, the student will no longer
be able to access the evaluation.)

How do I view evaluation
results?
You will not be able to view evaluation results until the
day following the deadline for turning in final grades.
To view the evaluation results:
- On the Help tab, click the
View the survey results.

- Select the desired Access type,
Session, and Survey.
