Lock Your Computer

When you lock your computer, a security screen displays that prevents other people from using your computer. Once your computer is locked, you must enter your password to unlock it.

To lock your computer:

Press the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete keys at the same time.
Click on the Lock Computer button.

Turn On a Password-Protected Screen Saver

A password-protected screen saver locks your computer after it has been idle for a specified number of minutes.

To turn on a password-protected screen saver:

Right-click on the desktop and select Properties.
Click on the Screen Saver tab.
In the Screen Saver area, check the Password protected checkbox.
In the Wait: minutes field, specify the number of minutes that the computer must be idle before the screen saver automatically turns on.
Click on the OK button.
