Recommended Anti-Virus, Anti-Spyware, and Firewall Software Anti-Virus SoftwareIMPORTANT! Do not install more than one anti-virus program on your personal computer. If you have old or expired anti-virus software on your computer, then uninstall it before installing a new anti-virus program. If you do not already have anti-virus software on your personal computer, then we recommend that you download and install AVG Anti-Virus, which is a free virus scanner and removal program available at http://free.avg.com/ Other recommended free anti-virus programs include:

Anti-Spyware SoftwareNote: While you should not use more than one anti-virus program on your personal computer, you can and should use multiple anti-spyware programs. If you do not have anti-spyware software on your personal computer, then we recommend that you download and install Spybot Search & Destroy, Ad-Aware, and Windows Defender (Beta 2), which are free spyware scanner/removal programs. Firewall SoftwareIMPORTANT! Unless you're familiar with how to configure multiple firewalls, it is strongly recommended that you have and use only one firewall program on your personal computer. Windows XP and Vista have a built-in firewall that you can use if you don't already have firewall protection. (For more information, see Turn On the Windows Built-In Firewall.)
