Turning off third-party browser extensions in Internet Explorer will prevent some spyware programs from installing on your computer.

Note: Some legitimate toolbars (e.g., the Google, Yahoo, and eBay toolbars) may be disabled by this procedure.

Open Internet Explorer.
Click on the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Under Browsing, uncheck the Enable third-party browser extensions checkbox.
Click on the OK button.
Restart the computer.
