Download and Install Microsoft Firewall Client

Microsoft Firewall Client is a program that enables most Internet-based applications to work seamlessly through the college’s network firewall. This program is NOT A FIREWALL, and it does NOT provide any type of protection for your computer.

Before you download and install Microsoft Firewall Client, you should make sure that you do not already have it installed on your computer. To check, go to the Control Panel, select Add or Remove Programs, and look for Microsoft Firewall Client. If it is installed, then uninstall it before installing the new version.

To download Microsoft Firewall Client from the network and install it on your computer:

  1. On the desktop, click the Start button and select Run.
  2. In the Open field, type \\isa1\software
  3. Copy the FW Client folder to your desktop.
  4. Open the FW Client folder and double-click the setup.exe file.
  5. Click the OK button.
  6. At the Welcome screen, click the Next button.
  7. Click the Next button to accept the default install folder.
  8. Click the Install button to begin the install.
  9. Click the Finish button.
  10. If required, restart your computer.

Download and Install WS_FTP95 LE

You can use WS_FPT95 LE to download files from your F: drive to your personal computer and to upload files from your personal computer to your F: drive.

Note: To use WS_FTP95 LE from your room or off campus, you must configure it to use passive transfer. (For more information, see Configure Your FTP Program to Use Passive Transfer.)

To download and install WS_FTP95 LE from the network and install it on your computer:

  1. On the desktop, click the Start button and select Run.
  2. In the Open field, type \\isa1\software
  3. Click the OK button.
  4. Double-click the Ws_FTP folder.
  5. Double-click the FTP Inst32 icon.
  6. Read the licensing agreement.
  7. When you are finished reading the licensing agreement, click the Accept button.
  8. Specify the location to download the software.
  9. Click the OK button.
  10. Click the OK button.
  11. Click the OK button.
  12. Enter your Monmouth College e-mail address.
  13. Click the OK button.
  14. Click the OK button.
