Training Schedule The Information Systems Center is offering the technology training sessions below during the month of October. Sessions are open to all faculty, staff, and students. If you would like to attend a workshop, then please contact Marcie Beintema at marcie@monm.edu or x2194 to sign up. (Can't attend a session due to a scheduling conflict? No problem! Schedule an appointment for one-on-one training at your convenience.) Introduction to Expression Web Expression Web is Microsoft's new web design program that
replaces FrontPage. (While FrontPage will remain available
on the Monmouth College network indefinitely, Microsoft is
discontinuing support for FrontPage in April 2009.) In this
workshop, you'll learn how Expression Web differs from
FrontPage and how to create and edit web pages using
Expression Web. Using Formulas and Functions in Excel In this workshop, you'll learn how to create formulas using relative and absolute cell references. You'll also learn how to use the SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, MIN, MAX, COUNTIF, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, and CONCATENATE functions as well as how to create IF and nested IF statements. Creating a Bibliography in Word In Word 2007, you can easily generate a bibliography based on source information that you provide. (Bibliographies may be formatted in different styles, including in APA, MLA, and Chicago styles.) In this workshop, you'll learn how to insert and manage citations and create a bibliography. Using SharePoint for Collaboration A SharePoint web site allows a group to easily share documents and communicate online. This workshop covers how use a SharePoint web site's Shared Documents folder, discussion board, and calendar. Tracking Document Changes in Word When multiple authors are working on a single document, the Track Changes feature in Word 2007 can help everyone quickly communicate suggestions and identify who made what changes to the document. In this workshop, you'll learn how to turn on the Track Changes feature, add markup and comments to a document, view tracked changes in a document, remove markup and comments from a document, print a document with tracked changes, and more. |
