A Letter From the President Kelly Bobik-President 2007-2008
Hi everyone! I am Kelly Bobik the president of Kappa Kappa Gamma Alpha Chapter at Monmouth College. I am a Business Administration and Psychology Major and pledged in 2004. Being a member of the Alpha chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma is such an honor. It is absolutely amazing that the women of KKG have carried on the tradition of leadership and excellence that began so long ago forming the Alpha chapter into what it is today. Currently, I believe our chapter is stronger than ever. Being president of such an outstanding group of women has been the best experience and has helped me become the person I am today. While Kappa means something different to every single member, the meaning that they have found within Kappa is something that has made a positive impact on their life. Our sisterhood and support for one another is unlike anything; even though, we are different we all understand and respect each other. We are not only academic leaders but also prominent leaders in many other campus clubs and organizations. Kappa’s are in athletics, theater, student senate, residence life, honor clubs, musical groups, and volunteer organizations. Our strong sisterhood shows support for each other in our other activities and aspects of our lives. The chapter comes together to strengthen sisterhood through weekly meetings, philanthropies, social events, or sisterhoods. This past semester has shown what a great chapter Alpha is. For spring 2007 our chapter had the highest cumulative GPA over all Greeks and Non Greeks. Our new focus on academics has really shown. The chapter also did a fantastic job with new events and philanthropies. Earning awards for Excellence in Community Involvement & Philanthropy (Greek Week) and Epsilon Province Hospitality and Graciousness Award for 2007! The chapter’s school spirit showed through during homecoming by winning the overall spirit award, first in banner, and second in float. This year’s recruitment is full of new ideas and changes. With only three days to show who we are and meet wonderful new girls. We were thrilled to add into twenty one new wonderful girls!!! It is incredibly hard for me to believe that I am a senior and my days as an active are ending. I will always remember the good times, my sisters, everything that Kappa has done for me and made me become. To sum it up, Kappa has become apart of my life and made my college experience! I have no doubt that Kappa will continue to grow and excel at Monmouth College.
Love and Loyalty, Kelly Bobik
