The Stewart House

Museum Highlights|Inside The Stewart House

The Stewart House is the home of Mary "Minnie" Stewart, one of Kappa's six founders. Minnie was the first President of Kappa and the first Grand President of Kappa Kappa Gamma. Many early meetings were held at the home. The Constitution was written here and the Charter was also signed.

In 1989 The Stewart House was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This is due to its significance as the founding home of one of the earliest women's fraternities and its importance in the progression of the women's movement.
