Other libraries

  • WorldCat: WorldCat combines the catalogs of over 41,000 libraries 82 countries around the world. Over 49 million items are available, from books and microfilm to videos and manuscripts. Requesting Interlibrary Loan materials through WorldCat is as simple as filling out an online form.
  • NetLibrary: NetLibrary provides access to two collections of electronic books:
    • Our Monmouth College account consists of over 5,000 titles which may be found in and linked from our online catalog HIP (see above).
    • The NetLibrary public domain collection, consisting of hundreds of titles no longer protected by copyright; everything from The Canterbury Tales to The Brothers Karamazov.
  • I-Share: I-Share is the combined catalog for the 76 libraries belonging to the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois (CARLI). As students at Monmouth College, you have access to all of the materials in I-Share. You can place requests using the barcode from your student ID. If you have any questions, please see a librarian.
  • Center for Research Libraries: The Center for Research Libraries (CRL) located in Chicago has over five million volumes in its collection and will make extended loans of materials for your research projects (4 month loan periods and generous renewals). CRL is a cooperative venture of over 200 U.S. & Canadian college and university libraries to acquire expensive and unique collections for faculty and student research. Foreign language books, journals and newspapers make up a significant percentage of the collection. CRL owns over 800,000 foreign dissertations. Much of the collection is represented in WorldCat, but not all. Only about half of the foreign dissertations are cataloged and listed in WorldCat.
  • Alliance Library System: the ALS combine catalog makes available materials from 190 public, academic and special libraries in the state of Illinois.
  • Warren County Public Library: the WCPL catalog makes available materials from the Main Library in Monmouth and its three branch locations.
