FDsys: U.S. Government Information
Public access to government information from Congress and Federal Agencies. Maintained by the U.S. Government Printing Office, this database provides access to everything from Congressional Documents and Bills to the Compilation of Presidential Documents.
DOAJ: Directory of Open Access Journals
The DOAJ, or the Directory of Open Access Journals, is a collection of over 4,200 scientific and scholarly open access journals. The project seeks to provide free access to quality scholarly content outside of traditional publishing models. The collection currently contains access to over 280,000 articles.
HighWire Press
Division of Standford Univeristy Libraries containing many open-access, peer reviewed journals. Part of a collaborative venture between libraries and publishers, some of this database's contents are open access (free) to all. There are currently 1.8 million articles available for free.
