The minor in music is designed for those students who wish to develop both their performance skills and their general understanding of music. The minor requires:

Two courses (in sequence) chosen from:

MUSI 121, 122, 221, or 222 – Music Theory I, II, III, IV

One course chosen from:

MUSI 203 - Evolution of Jazz

MUSI 301 - Introduction to Conducting

MUSI 302 - Form and Analysis

One course chosen from:

MUSI 321 - History and Literature of Music I

MUSI 322 - History and Literature of Music II

Four semesters in applied music (including two semesters in piano if not the major applied instrument)

Four semesters of enrollment in a Music Department ensemble.

Attendance at campus concerts and recitals is required each semester.
