
The Music Department at Monmouth
College awards talent-based scholarships each year. These
scholarships are awarded on an audition basis to musically talented
prospective students, and are renewed each year based on the
students' continued participation in musical ensembles as vocalists,
instrumentalists, or accompanists, depending on the terms of the
award.
Students interested in auditioning
for scholarships are encouraged to attend one of Monmouth College’s
Fine Arts Days. Prospective students can audition for the
scholarship, tour the campus, eat lunch with the music faculty
members, attend master classes taught by the music faculty, meet
with current Monmouth students, attend a rehearsal of the Monmouth
Chorale or the Wind Ensemble, and attend a concert in the evening
featuring the Chorale and Wind Ensemble. The dates for this school
year are January 26 and February 16.

Note to percussionists:
Both prepared pieces may be performed on the same instrument, but
demonstrating abilities on two different major instruments (Snare
Drum, Timpani, or Mallet Keyboard Instruments) is encouraged.
Percussion instruments will be provided for on-campus auditions.
Vocal:
2 pieces in
contrasting styles and in 2 different languages
(memorized:
English, French, German, Italian, Latin)
