The Monmouth Winds under the direction of Professor Stephen Richter is a 40 member ensemble for the serious musician. It is open only by audition or recommendation of the applied instructor.
The Monmouth Winds performs at Family Weekend, Christmas at Monmouth, Pops on the Prairie, and the Commencement Concert along with fall and spring concerts.
The Monmouth Winds completed a regional tour March 9-13, 2009 that included performances at the Illinois State Capitol in Springfield, Illinois, The Charles Allis Art Museum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the Harold Washington Public Library in Chicago, Illinois in addition to area high schools. The Monmouth Winds along with the Monmouth Chorale will conduct a European tour in June of 2010.
The Monmouth College Concert Band under the direction of Professor Stephen Richter is open to all students without an audition. This ensemble performs one concert each semester. The ensemble performs concert band literature from Bach to Andrew Lloyd Webber. The
Concert Band is designed for students who want to continue to be in a band
but prefer not to make the time commitment required by the
Monmouth Winds.
